New system on module based on Analog Devices Blackfin BF609
AXONIM Devices company developed new processor module based on new platform from Analog Devices - BF60x. Module name - AX-SoM-BF60x.
The ADSP-BF609 Blackfin processor is optimized for embedded vision and video analytics applications using a dual-core fixed-point DSP processor with a unique pipelined vision processor (PVP). The PVP is a set of functional blocks next to the Blackfin cores designed to accelerate image processing algorithms and reduce overall bandwidth requirements.
Also for embedded audio devices this SoC is usable. New platform from Analog Devices - BF60x is ideal solution for audio processing, because BF60x has 2 cores 500MHz each with shared 250MHz DDR2 memory interface. This allows to create new high performance audio systems with more powerful algorithms. A lot of special audio ports for connect modern audio codecs gives advance to create new audio capture interface device with new features and much more.
Main features of this module:
- Minimum copmonents for starting any software in SoC: DDR2, SPI Flash, and DC/DC;
- All peripherial interfaces are accessible with connectors. This is good thing for creating any end-hardware;
- Possible to change size of DDR2 RAM, SPI Flash without changing schematic and PCB;
- Dimensions - 65 x 55 mm.
Engineers of AXONIM Devices company build full packet of documentation for this module, BSP for Embedded uClinux and eCOS 3.0 . Already starting mass-production.
Main idea in development of this module - to reduce costs of Bill of Material.
